A billion here, a billion there...
One of my New Year resolutions is to get back to blogging on this site, on a somewhat-regular basis. So here's my first post--just a note on a very interesting story about how the state has saved nearly $1 billion from projected costs in its Medicare and Medicaid programs. The article notes that part of this could be called luck--enrollees have been healthier than projected. And the competitive bidding process the state enacted with health plans has saved a bit as well. Not all the news on state health care programs has been rosy lately. But a bit of good news is a great way to start the year...
And for a totally unrelated visual, here's Minnehaha Falls after a few days of subzero weather...
